I was born in Scotland, but I grew up most of my life in Searcy, Arkansas. I moved to Jonesboro when I was 19 for college. I graduated in August of 2020 with my bachelor of exercise science from Arkansas State. In 2020 my Kinesiology Research Group at Arkansas State won 1st place in an ACSM conference. The research presentation was on hypergravity training in rugby players. After college, I wanted to continue learning and pursue a career in the fitness/health career field.
Professionally, I am known for my love of working on flexibility and mobility training. I believe it is an overlooked aspect of fitness and working out. What most excites me about the work I do is seeing the results in my clients and how they benefit physically and mentally. One problem I am best at solving for my clients, I believe, is how I have the strength of feeling sympathy when clients get discouraged and help them work on changing their minds to a more positive outlook. I don’t let them stay in that mindset of “I can’t” and help them see the “I can” in their fitness journey.
When I have free time I love making weekend road trips to different destinations I have not been to. The world is too beautiful to not explore. I enjoy challenging myself to do things outside of my comfort zone. I also am very passionate about environmental clean-up. We only have one earth and it is important to keep it clean. I have spent a weekend picking up litter from the ocean in Santa Monica over the summer. When I am not out helping the environment, I am involved in helping out non-profits.
I love St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. My dad has run in every St Jude marathon for the past 20 years so it holds a special place in my heart.
A few fun facts about me are that it would be impossible for me to give up the Chilis 3 for 10 deal, I would want to be remembered for knowing that I made an impact on the lives of others, my favorite podcast is Crime Junkies, and I have dual citizenship in the United States and Scotland.
